Transportable Radio Monitoring and Technical Analysis System


The system is intended for search, detection, evaluation of REE's signal parameters, recording, technical analysis and classification of modern HF, VHF, UHF and SHF communication systems.

Typical Configuration:

  • ARGAMAK-CS Digital Panoramic Radio Receiver in a body designed for mounting on a mast (operating frequency range 20-3000 MHz)
  • ARC-A17 Wideband Omni-Directional Active Antenna (operating frequency range 20-3000 MHz)
  • Tripod (mast) for equipment mounting when operated at temporary workstations
  • Power supply and communication unit
  • Control and display unit with SMO-PA, SMO-STA, SMO-ASPD Software Packages.

  • Can be deployed at a temporary workstation or mounted on a carrier (vehicle, river or sea vessel)
  • Operation at stops and while moving (when the equipment is installed on a vehicle)
  • Joint operation of several systems (when communication equipment is available), e.g. as a part of Automated Spectrum Monitoring Systems (ARMADA, AREAL etc.)
  • The distance between antenna systems and operator's location can be up to 100 m
  • To prevent overloading in complicated electromagnetic environment, digital radio receiver includes additional analogue path with 500 kHz bandwidth
  • Power supply from portable electro generator, external AC mains or vehicle on-board DC
  • Localization of RES using time difference of arrival method, amplitude method or combined method (when operated as a part of automated spatially distributed system).

System Provides:

  • Panoramic spectrum analysis within the entire operating frequency range or within separate intervals in complicated electromagnetic environment, accommodation to ambient radio environment and detection of its changes
  • Search for emission sources within selected frequency ranges, including frequency hopping signals
  • Plotting frequency-time diagram of loading within analyzed frequency ranges.

  • Technical analysis with finding of basic time and frequency parameters of radio emissions
  • Detailed technical analysis of signals (parsing of complicated signal-code structures, demodulation and decoding of digital streams for a great variety of protocols and standards, and analysis of transferred data bitstreams)
  • Check of frequency/time parameters and service information of base station of modern communication and data transmission systems (GSM, IS-95, cdma2000, EV-DO, UMTS, TETRA, DECT, LTE, DMR, APCO P25).
  • Automated radio monitoring based on preset schedule or under operator control
  • Automated control of equipment health
  • Remote control based on TCP/IP via wire and wireless communication channels
  • Review and processing of the data from DB
  • Mapping DB information on the electronic map
